Indian-owned Dallas-based software company pays for their anti-black discrimination
It’s not a secret that some of the most hardcore white supremacists are not non-white people. This is part of the reason white supremacist has lasted for 500 years and is so prevalent today. This civil verdict was first reported in the news earlier this year and we wanted to write about it. Based on an article by Forbes, the company is a Dallas-based software firm named Glow Networks. Nine of the ten employees who brought the lawsuit are Black.
The complaints made against the company are a case study in plantation-type tactics and the societal norms of the United States that allow people to come here from other countries and discriminate against black people. Of course, many of these countries or regions rather they be Mexico, South America, India or Asia have their racist backgrounds and problems. White supremacy is global, so it’s not surprising to see the diabolical attitudes towards us by non-Anglo people.
The allegations by the plaintiff sound like all the usual oppressive tactics in corporate America towards black people – unequal pay, denial of promotions, and a hostile environment. The jury awarded each plaintiff $3 million in emotional distress damages and $4 million in punitive damages. This is designed to punish employers in cases of appalling employment discrimination tactics. The award for the 10 employees is $70 million, excluding attorneys’ and court fees. This is good and sends a message that business as usual and the status quo is changing. As long as we continue to keep our arm on these bigots.
Since the uprisings of 2020, the DA’s have been arresting and charging police for criminal behavior. We are not where we need to be, but at least more action has been taken during the last few years than in the past. More importantly, the juries have also been convicting these police officers of wrongdoings. Civil juries appear to be more sympathetic to the problems that exist in the workplace too, where mistreatment is rampant and economic discrimination is just as important of a problem. They dislike and hate us because we’re Black, but they can mistreat us because of our economic status.
The allegations of the company appear that the company was running the company like a plantation. According to a Yahoo article, the plaintiffs” alleged the company not only punished Black people for checking their phones while on the clock but separated the Black employees into two surveilled rooms in the office for executives to monitor. They also said that if they left their desks without informing a manager or took breaks that lasted longer than a couple of minutes, they would be reprimanded, while their white colleagues would not. This is what a race war looks like and how white supremacy’s strongest advocates hide behind their non-white status but are some of the most vehement anti-black racists on the planet.
The Yahoo article provides more detail on the matter and provides statements by a white manager who joined the other 9 black plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
You are seeing more companies starting to get hit with anti-black discrimination lawsuits and this is good. We see many smoke screens and confusion being perpetrated by corporate America, from diversity being a hijacked and now catch-all phase to the designation of DEI offices with no power. We must continue to put the arm on these bigots, organize and fight so that they know if they think they can mistreat us and we’re just going to roll over – they have another thing coming. The energy spent away from running the business, investor money and profits allocated to paying law firms, reputational damage, and large judgment payouts will be the consequences. This needs to be standard protocol for those who think they can practice race-based mistreatment and maybe the consequences will be a deterrent.
